Model Course


A model event will be held to allow entrants to familiarise themselves with local conditions prior to the WRC2016 event.

The model course will be nearby to the WRC2016 course map, and is on part of the competition map for the 2007 Australian Championships.

The model course will present 21 checkpoints in terrain that is the same as the WRC2016 course.  We encourage all competitors to become familiar with the terrain, vegetation, rocks, and typical checkpoint locations. This will inform teams in their competition course planning. Most of the checkpoints are more closely placed than on the WRC2016 course, to provide competitors with a full range of checkpoint locations in a smaller area. The model course is large enough for 4-8 hours navigation. The model course will be available from 9:00am Wednesday 20 July.

The model course is located 10km from the HH by sealed road.

Complimentary Shuttle Bus

There will be a complimentary shuttle bus provided between the Hash House and the model course between 12 noon and 5:00pm Thursday 21 July and between 10:30am and 5:00pm Friday 22 July 2016.

Entry Process & Costs

Anyone can visit the model course from Wednesday 20 July when the flags will have been hung. Free maps will be available from the HH, or you can print your own and bring it with you.


Copies of the A4-sized map printed on the same paper as the event map (with course notes specific to the model course) will be available at the Hash House from 10:00am Wednesday 20 July until 4:00pm Friday 22 July.  A pdf copy of information on the model course (map + course notes) will also be placed on the website closer to the event date.

The map has been prepared using same process as the competition map and will be at the same scale (1:25000).
