There are a number of accommodation options available for entrants and support teams for WRC2016.  Entrants will need to stay at either Alice Springs, or the Ross River Resort (Hash House / event centre). 

Alice Springs

Alice Springs is the only nearby accommodation option other than Ross River Resort.  There are numerous hotel, motel, B&B and caravan park options within Alice Springs.  We recommend our partners TravelNT for accommodation bookings in Alice Springs.  You can book the WRC2016 Shuttle bus for travel to get between Alice Springs and the Ross River Resort during the registration process.

Ross River Resort Accommodation

Bookings for Ross River Resort accommodation for the event duration (Friday 22 July to Sunday 24 July) will be through the WRC2016 website only. Please see instructions on the Payment and Extra Purchases page.
All accommodation other than unpowered camping is booked out.
Ross River Resort will not take direct bookings for Friday 22 July through Sunday 24 July.
For bookings up to Thursday 21 July or from Monday 25 July, please contact Ross River Resort directly. If you are planning on camping at an unpowered site before Friday 21 or after Sunday 24, you don't need to book in advance, just pay when you arrive at Ross River.

Ross River Resort Camping

There is free camping available for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for WRC2016 entrants at Ross River Resort. There is no requirement to book a campsite (there is plenty of space available), however, we ask that you indicate how many people will be camping when you register for the event - unpowered campsites are $0 extra in your team registration. If you are planning on camping at an unpowered site before Friday 21 or after Sunday 24, you don't need to book in advance, just pay when you arrive at Ross River.

Powered sites (240V AC) are all booked out.

Volunteer Information contains details about additional people (18+ years who are not competing and not volunteering) who wish to stay at Ross River Resort. 

Ross River Resort Cabins

There are a total of 28 ensuite cabins available. These cabins are approximately 700 metres from the Hash House, were built in the 1960’s and 70’s and are comfortable but basic. They have stone floors, hessian lined walls, an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet, a small bar fridge and air conditioning/heating. They come fully supplied with linen.

The cabins do not have cooking facilities but tea and coffee making facilities are available on request. There is a BBQ area by the pool that guests may use to cook, and a restaurant in the adjacent homestead building. The BBQ will not be available from Friday through Monday since it is being used for HH catering.

The cabins come in three types:

  • Basic cabins which contain either one queen bed or two single beds (sleeps 2) – these cost A$370 for the event  (6 total)
  • Standard cabins which contain one queen and one single bed (sleeps 3) – these cost A$390 for the event (17 total)
  • Family cabins which contain one queen, one single and one double bunk bed (sleeps 5) – these cost A$465 for the event (5 total)

Ross River Resort Bunkhouse

The bunkhouse is located at the Hash House. It has 12 rooms each with two double bunk beds (sleeps 4 per room). Guests in the bunkhouse can utilise the campground amenities block that is adjacent to the bunkhouse.

Each bed comes with a bottom sheet with guests supplying their own bedding or sleeping bag and pillow.

Bunkhouse accommodation for the event will be A$75/person or A$300/room.

The bunkhouse is all booked out.
