The 2016 World Rogaining Championships will be held at the Ross River Resort in the East MacDonnell Ranges, Northern Territory, Australia on 23 and 24 July 2016. This event will bring together some of the world's best rogainers to challenge themselves in endurance and navigation skills for 24 hours in a stunning location.
The terrain for this event is challenging and visually spectacular, within a desert setting. The course will reward all levels of rogaining experience, with intricate contour detail, complex features and fast travel on very few tracks.
Ross River Resort is located approximately 80km east of Alice Springs. Alice Springs is often referred to as the Red Centre of Australia, and nearby features such as Uluru/Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta/The Olgas provide additional tourist attractions worthy of a visit. The Ross River Resort Hash House site and nearby Alice Springs have accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets, including free camping at Ross River Resort for all entrants.
Alice Springs is very well serviced by internal domestic commercial airlines from all major Australian capital cities, and is approximately 3 hours' flight from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. A WRC16 bus service will be available for participants between the Alice Springs town and airport, and the Ross River Resort. Bus and accommodation options will be available for booking during the entry process.
